Hulul Media

Humanizing Data.

We transform complex data and information into human stories that help people understand what is happening and why it matters.

Our Purpose

We tell the stories of organisations and people working to improve themselves, the environment and society.

We use data, research and creative media to show what they are doing, why it matters and the difference it makes. Hulul is a media and storytelling company: the work begins with information, not with a brand.

  1. I

    To improve self.

Information that changes how a person understands their own circumstances, and what they can do about them.

  2. II

    To improve the environment.

The climate, biodiversity and waste work already happening, documented so that it can be seen, understood and supported.

  3. III

    To improve society.

The organisations and people doing the difficult, unglamorous work of making things better for other people.

What We Do

Eight ways a body of research becomes something a person will actually read.

  1. 01

    Storytelling & Content Creation

The core practice. We take a dataset, a report or a body of field research and find the human account inside it.

  2. 02

    Documentaries

Long-form film following the people and organisations doing the work, filmed where the work happens.

  3. 03

    Feature Stories

Written features that carry the evidence and the people together, built for publication.

  4. 04

    Social Media Campaigns

Findings cut for the platforms people actually meet them on, without losing what the findings say.

  5. 05

    Short Films & Visual Narratives

Short-form visual storytelling for organisations that need one idea understood quickly.

  6. 06

    Advocacy & Awareness

Campaign work built to move an audience from understanding an issue to acting on it.

  7. 07

    Impact Stories

Accounts of what changed, told through the people it changed things for, with the evidence attached.

  8. 08

    Media Production & Branding

The production craft around all of it: direction, photography, edit, design and identity.

First Initiative

The Sustainability Chronicles

We document organisations and people working on environmental issues: climate change, biodiversity, waste management and the problems that sit underneath them.

The initiative uses data, interviews, photography, video and storytelling to show what these organisations are doing, the problems they are addressing, and the results of their work.

  • Show the work.
  • Tell the story.
  • Help people understand.

Our Work

Completed and ongoing stories.

Every entry below is a placeholder. Anything carrying a dashed rule is awaiting real material.

How We Work

Four steps, in the same order, every time.

  1. 01

    Find the information.

Understand the data, the organisation and the issue before anything is written or filmed.

  2. 02

    Find the story.

Identify the people, the work and the ideas behind the information.

  3. 03

    Tell the story.

Use the right combination of writing, visuals, video, data and other media, chosen for the story rather than the format.

  4. 04

    Help people understand.

Make the information clear enough for people to connect with it and act on it.
